    Hear About It Later Lyrics. 5. The artwork chosen for the album, Fair Warning is one of only two of Van Halen’s studio albums to have no songs appear on the Hot chart in the US.

    Arguably Van Halen's most divisive record, the lack of a genuine hit single means that the Californian quartet's 4th LP 'Fair Warning' is often unheralded in the hard rockers stellar discography. Containing a darker & heavier approach than previously, the gritty feel brings out a rejuvenated outfit ready to meet all challenges head on.

    "Fair Warning" is kind of the black sheep album in the Van Halen catalogue. Other than "Unchained" the album did not receive a lot of airplay (at least compared to the band's other Roth era discs) and is probably the least commercial of their late 70's early 80's works. The band took some chances on this one which for me is a good thing/5().

    Van Halen - Fair Warning Sometimes the best selling album isn't a band's best work. Such is the case with Van Halen. Fair Warning is the Eddie Van Halen album he wanted. And damn did he get.

    Van Halen - Fair Warning "Lord strike that poor boy down." This album kicks solid ass!! I hope I can say that word in this review. 5 stars all the way. I loved it when it came out and its still kicking ass!! oops I said it again. Van Halen with Roth is the only Van Halen in my opinion.

    There's only one Roth-era Van Halen album that I don't like. It's not this one. Perhaps not as immediate as the bigger known entities (i.e. the first album and ), Fair Warning introduces a more subtle side to the band ("Dirty Movies" notwithstanding) which is definitely not to be missed. The guitar work is excellent as expected.
